Right may as well see how this progresses.

New album recommendations (not mixes, leave that to shat if he turns up) please?

Haven't been able to listen music in work in ages so the album count has dropped significantly. All suggestions welcome.

0 |

im currently playing the shit out of chvrches, aluna george, purity ring, dan croll, asap rocky, kendrick lamar, killer mike, maverick sabre, jessie ware, laura mvula and tom odell...

0 |

Tom Odell is easily the most non descript anti music ive had the misfortune of hearing recently.

0 |

Chvrches album is great though as is the new Haim one.

0 |

Love Chvrches but have been put off listening to the Haim album just by how appalling they are live

0 |

yea thought the same cull, they are so bad live it is laughable...

0 |

I seen Haim at Glasto and they were great.

If you like slightly dark stuff can really recommend the latest Nick Cave album. One of my favourites of the year so far.

0 |

Like that one myself.
Hiss Golden Messenger's was good. Foy Vance's too.

Loving that Orb and Lee Scratch Perry album myself. Listening to it at the minute.

Zygote23 I just got marantz pm6004, marantz cd6004 & project essential II.
That's is the savings for my wedding totally smashed.
Just need a DAC and I'm done.

0 |

Lynch....quite like the Orb too though it is very much music by numbers ;)

Ruairi....nice kit...but why do you need a DAC? Surely theres one built into the CDP....no?

0 |

I want to be able to steam my music as well and control it from my phone/tablet. Raspberry Pi into DAC into the amp.

0 |

www.raspyfi.com

0 |

Aah yes...I see....heard very good reports. I use Logitechs squeezeboxes though they don't make em any more.

0 |

Orbserver in the Starhouse is excellent. Check out the More Tales from the Starhouse release as well.

0 |

The Boats - Nomenclature

0 |

where do you get the time Zygote?

0 |

Doesn't work

0 |

The streaming music to speakers thing is what i want to get into.

Was looking at squeezeboxes but as you said they're now obsolete.

Using a portable bluetooth speaker at the minute which is doing an ok job. Any other recommendations for streaming from ipad/macbook/phone etc to speakers?

0 |

Look at that raspyfi website. People talk about sonos but it's expensive

0 |

JU & Blurt....I do work but music has been an obsession for years. Some of the stuff I might only listen to a few times before it gets shifted on....others get a daily spin. I think I've played the same Vangelis album every night for the last 6 or 7 years lol. Music usually on here 24/7 sometimes what I pick and sometimes just random from the hard drive.

Agreed on Sonos being expensive for what it is Ruairi....I've just stuck with the squeezeboxes. You can pick up a new touch if you know where to look though. I'd say you'll do just as well with the raspyfi though.

Wild Beasts are parting ways

0 |

Waaaa??? :(

0 |

No joking...

0 |

"now time to leave this orbit" pretentious, talent-less cunts.

4 |

Haha

1 |

Yeah musicians have a habit of always having to make everything wanky but they'll be missed

1 |

I had to google them and then fire on a couple of numbers on Spotify. No, they won't be missed (by me).

2 |

all over 6 music this track last Summer. Still can't make my mind up wether it's brilliant, or shite.

0 |

What tunes did you listen to though, Andy? Try Lions Share, All The Kings Men and Wanderlust.

0 |

Reach a bit further is one of favourite songs of the last 10 years. The contrast in the two voices works so well

0 |

I like The Devil's Crayon, Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyant, We Still Got The Taste Dancing On Our Tongues, Bed Of Nails, Nature Boy, Mecca, Pregnant Pause, A Simple Beautiful Truth as well as the others Ive mentioned. Present Tense their best album for me but Id need to give Boy King another few listens

0 |

The first 3 on their list on Spotify Molo. Big cat, alpha female and get my bang. All a bit meh for me.

0 |

Must be off the new album Andy

0 |

They'll all of the new one. Big Cats good. The second albums the best for me

0 |

Smother and Two Dancers both excellent

0 |

Loving this War On Drugs number. Pain is superb.

0 |

I shall endeavour to try another album just for you lads and report back tomorrow
