Exactly dufunk, fucking DUP, hunning it up as per usual.

0 |

I've never been a fan of the DUP nor have I voted for them but there the biggest party due to that other showing stirring shit and making Unionists paranoid. If SF didn't harp on about the UI agenda the DUP might not off been as stubborn as they are over this issue.

That's the closest to collapse the state of NI has ever been, those few hours earlier. It can definitely be wibble-wobbled.

spasticunts

0 |

Still think Northern Ireland could be some sort of offshore euro/Brit economic gateway, but that would take the DUP actually using their tiny minds.

0 |

Still mental it's year half more on from the vote and no one put up a solid good reason for leaving or even a plan for it being better for the future or even a solution to the problem currently.

The whole episode been a monumental waste of time

UK government are in a desperate state here. Said they'd set their own timeline for negotiations - immediately capitulated to the EU's timeline. Said they'd not be paying any divorce bills - capitulated to paying one that was higher than most British people expected. Said they'd not remain in the single market and customs union - now looking very like they were about to capitulate to that and more.

So, this has been extremely costly, has heavily weakened the union, will continue to be more costly than staying in the EU would have been, has led to an exodus of multinationals from the UK who won't return, has only reduced immigration because people have looked at the mess and say "nah, we'll go somewhere else".

Oh wait, the government did get those "Henry VIII" powers into law, so now they can fuck over every citizen even more easily.

worth ittttttt

Things are bad when Jamie Bryson appears on RTE.

*FOSTER SAYS DUP `FAR AWAY FROM BORDER DEAL,' RTE SAYS

0 |

Leave them there. The only reason this has become a problem is that Theresa May is more desperate to cling to power (through their DUP "coalition") than to produce a deal which doesn't destroy the UK. There are more than enough MPs in Westminster who would support yesterday's wording change and proposals to make the DUP utterly insignificant in terms of purely that.

0 |

we are used to them being the cunts that veto everything in NI, ones in England will be thinking "who the fuck are these irish cunts to tell us anything?"

1 |

Cunts, that's who

Done deal then. Will be interested to see the lines added to keep Dodds and Co happy.

0 |

Basically they've changed it to say:
The border issue will be considered as part of the UK-EU trading partnership talks in Phase 2.
If there is no agreement in those talks, "the U.K. will propose specific solutions to address the unique circumstances of the island of Ireland.”
In the event of a complete 'no deal' then: "the United Kingdom will maintain full alignment with those rules of the Internal Market and the Customs Union which, now or in the future, support North-South cooperation, the all-island economy and the protection of the 1998 Agreement."

0 |

Oh and:

"In an assurance to the DUP, the new agreement contains a guarantee that the U.K. will ensure “no new regulatory barriers develop between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom” unless agreed to by the Northern Ireland executive and devolved assembly in Northern Ireland."

0 |

that's a good thing actually, so the Executive actually get a proper say. up till this point there was no real representation. but probably need an executive first. and also no deal means no change from the status quo

0 |

Not sure how the non-existent assembly could agree to anything, but there you go.

Amazing how the UK have rolled over on every single Brexit issue now.

0 |

As someone points out on Twitter, EU27 now have all the pieces in place to put their feet up and not give a fuck about the rest of the negotiations. The "undo Brexit" option just disappeared completely, but then so did the Hard Brexit option.

0 |

DUP deserve a bit of credit actually if the original deal went threw we may of had certain barriers with the rest of the UK and after hearing what the farmers union and manufacturing people were saying that could of effected our main market quite a lot. As much as people will hate it the DUP will probably come out of this very well internationally.

0 |

No they won't - let's not forget that DUP are part of the reason the Brexit mess landed in our plates at all.

It'd be a laugh if the Leavers end up hating the DUP, because the DUP are the reason that the UK can't "take back control of their borders" like they were promised.

3 |

They weren't out of order calling out that first agreement low in a business sense. You have to remember ROI market only makes up 3% of our exports the UK mainland is our most important market by a country mile. Its a good result NI are the winners here.

0 |

Nobody is a winner here.
