aye but Killary is in the pocket of Soros

0 |

"she lost to Trump. that's how awful a choice she was. worse than Donald Trump"

She got more votes. The game's rigged.

1 |

the only pocket Trump is in, is a clowns pocket which happens to be him

0 |

But her emails!

0 |

The game to get her as candidate was certainly rigged...

0 |

Can anyone explain why she lost to Trump?

0 |

Headers thinking she was worse than Trump is why she lost to Trump.

1 |

At least we have God Musk to watch over us all:

Elon Musk: I'm Trump's voice of reason - www.bbc.co.uk/news/tec...

Basically Trump won in a few important states by very small margins due to late-breaking swing votes. What they were influenced by is less definite, but FBI director Comey's letter about Hillary's emails put a big dent in her popularity with those types. Plus Trump managed to keep himself quiet in the last week or so of the election and polling showed that any time he STFU, his numbers actually went up.

Of course, its not as simple as that really (the first sentence above is still very much true) because why were there so many undecided voters anyway?

One thing I think is clear - there are lot of conservatives in the US who were happier to support Trump than see any kind of liberal in the White House again.

0 |

they were able to look at the bigger picture matthew

0 |

Yep, they're all big picture thinkers really. Plus her emails.

0 |

not to overlook the concerted attempt by the republican at voter suppression... which I imagine won't get much better under the new administration.

I haver no idea how there figure stack up in reality... but if it was even a fraction as successful as this article makes out then it may have played a significant role in trumps election

I beg anyone who misses the idea of a hilary presidency to sit through the video of Mary J Blige singing at her for what feels like eternity about black lives matter.

0 |

you realise the clinton presidency wouldn't have had mary j blige singing about blm for the next 4 years

1 |

I beg anyone who misses the idea of a Trump presidency to sit through any video of Trump for what feels like eternity of absolutely nonsense.

3 |

+ at least Hilldawg could get artists to sing for her...

0 |

Is dvmc an 'All Lives Matter' type?

1 |

don't try pigeon-holing him Matthew. While he may come across like a fully red-pilled, breitbart reader, his value are definitely progressive (as long as you don't talk about anything that could be considered identity politics).

1 |

Trump's madness outweighs Hillary's emails for sure. Can we boil it down to the people in every internal state in the US are right wing racist idiots?

0 |

he looking to build a wall and keep the torture up onto of everything else, no doubts he be war mongering soon, but RP reckons he's a better candidate.

he's a monumental disaster for America across the globe.

0 |

God in heaven man would you ever give it a break with that. Absolutely obnoxious to no end whatsoever.

0 |

id laugh if he turned out alright

1 |

Sure he's already a disaster RJ, and it's only 1 week.

It seems since we began to talk a bit more on here about the whos and whats or whys of the rise of Trump, Pavlov seemed just content to point fingers at either the voters being too Stupid, Racist or to those people commentating on why Clinton was bad and why Trump won as (yes again) racist, stupid, "red-pilled breitbart readers".

Absolutely no insight as to why HRC might have lost the election, simply a double down on "call everyone with a slightly differing opinion to you a racist or fascist breitbart reader". So for the last time you fucking Cretin, and it pains me to insult you, I don't read that newspaper and I'm certainly no racist. The idea that everyone must *constantly* defend themselves from such fucking accusations is a huge reason for the rise of the right these days are you so obtuse as to not realise that?

You, your insults, this way of speaking only full of hate with each other which developed over the past years - insults, putting people in boxes or "shutting" people down - this came and comes from the "left", what remains of it anyway. I don't agree that we need to be divided on race, gender, sexual orientation and that these things define us, if you mean that by "obsessing over identity" then talk, don't sneer.

0 |

HRC didn't lose the popular vote, she lost the political game. Can we get that straight at least? 3 million more votes for her than Trump. The result says everything about American "democracy".

0 |

You play the game as it is though, Matthew. Trump only visited a few states I think Clinton the same. The argument being, that if it was a straight shoot with the popular vote he still could have won (or lost) as the campaign would have been radically different.

0 |

I didn't call you a fascist or a racist. I specifically told matthew not be pigeon holing you. reread what I said?

1 |

I think this is the long term problem with Democratic strategy. If they go ahead and put absolute pandering morons like the woman in that video (above) in positions of power ("shut white people down"), they will never see power again. The concentration on dicing people up regarding gender or race backfired horribly. They simply assume people of colour and women will vote for them and always will "because those repubs won't pander to you like us!". People are multi-faceted creatures and much harder to guess than they figure...

0 |

The Democrats problem is they can't get control of the House or Senate to undo the gerrymandering and racist voting laws that the Republicans are pushing through. Demographics of voters are on the Democrat's side, but they're fucked if they continue to let GOP prevent non-white voters from being able to vote.

0 |

It isn't just the White House, either:

www.dailykos.com/story...

I mean, are the Republicans that impressive these days? During what apparently was the most popular president since Reagan? Why are they voting en masse for Republicans in every way possible including even electing Trump.

0 |

I'm unconvinced about the power or strength of demographics to win an election. The older people get, the more conservative they drift. The wealthier they become, the less party explicit programmes are of importance to them. Conservatism, if not modern US Republicanism will always be a force to be reckoned with and thats why the Democrats lost a huge chance with the failure of Obama.

0 |

As has been pointed out several times dvmc... republicans are not that impressive... they lost the popular vote... they just have gerrymandered a majority and are prepared to suppress the ability of the poor to vote.

1 |

It even mentions the gerrymandering in the Kos article you linked

0 |

Couldn't agree more on Gerrymandering, but it's not a one way thing lets be honest. This WP article mentions a really interesting idea based on a random computer model. www.washingtonpost.com...

It would be better for districts to be drawn from above or from someone outside of party politics - but when one side in power they fear if they don't "re-draw" the other side will, when they get in. Pretty reprehensible.

0 |

They won the game based on the rules as they were. If was played another way from the beginning (both sides visiting more states etc) would you be certain the 3million would have stayed with Hillary? I'm not. But it's a moot point, she lost to the worst candidate ever put forward. No other way around it and no point in moaning about the rules when the game is over, and I mean that for all people who mention it, not just you.

1 |

Imagine being able to listen in on this call...

Is dvmc a pro-Trump fascist?

1 |

Thought that was clear by now! Nice to see you enter the conversation lad....

Food for thought:The organiser of the recent womens March on Washington is pro sharia law, who openly mocks women and activists who speak out against it and have even withstood it. Muslim women who have been mutilated in the name of religion who now call for a more tolerant Islam, they usually all have security details...
Also, pretty anti semitic if truth be hold but in the battle of oppression being a Muslim "trumps" being Jewish these days... So there you go. Pro sharia leading a "women's march"... WHUT

I know this will get people's gander up. But, the world is literally on its head.

For anyone who cares, this guy does a fairly decent summation of where my head is with this kind of thing recently. Watch and enjoy your night :-)

"racist, breitbart loving, fascist trump supporter" to be exact.

Not as if what I think or believe is important, but it's an interesting video to those new to the debate or wonder why trump got supported like he did.

It's as bad as he did it himself. MONSTER.

No mention of communists, socialists, gypsies, homosexuals or just plain old civilians, no mention of any specific groups murdered by Nazis....just this

“It is with a heavy heart and somber mind that we remember and honor the victims, survivors, heroes of the Holocaust. It is impossible to fully fathom the depravity and horror inflicted on innocent people by Nazi terror.

“Yet, we know that in the darkest hours of humanity, light shines the brightest. As we remember those who died, we are deeply grateful to those who risked their lives to save the innocent.

“In the name of the perished, I pledge to do everything in my power throughout my Presidency, and my life, to ensure that the forces of evil never again defeat the powers of good. Together, we will make love and tolerance prevalent throughout the world.”

Make you're own mind up, I guess...

This is mental. The man is a child. That's his private residence.

0 |

Last week. Says he is going to pull NATO funding. This week meets with Teresa May. Says he supports NATO 100%. The man is a puppet. Probably a lot more manipulation going on than we will ever know.

James O'Brien on newsnight special tonight was pulling no punches, well worth a look - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/...

0 |

So he's signed the EO that'll ban people from certain Muslim countries from the US. Already know a few Syrian and Iranian employees in my company that will have to leave California (even though they have a Green Card).

0 |

Really?? Surely they've already been vetted and can travel back and forward. Thought it was maybe ban on issuing new visas.
